In the vortex of God’s love
Bill and I traveled to Sedona, AZ last month to celebrate our 35th anniversary and it was a delightful trip, with stunning scenery at every turn. We also fit in a day trip to the Grand Canyon, which does NOT disappoint! If you’ve never been to the Grand Canyon, please add it to your bucket list asap!
Anyhow, Sedona is known for its beautiful red rock landscape and numerous vortexes, which are “swirling centers of energy that are conducive to healing, meditation and self-exploration.” I was chatting with a lady one evening as we waited outside a restaurant and she mentioned that she felt the most energy at the vortex located at the Chapel of the Holy Cross. I teasingly told her that was the God vortex (not sure if she understood, lol).
We humans are graced to live in the vortex of God’s love at all times and in all places. It’s a love that surpasses our understanding, but one that brings true healing and self-knowledge, as we find our identity and purpose in the One who created us…the One who longs to give good gifts to his children.
People travel to Sedona and other beautiful places seeking inspiration for the journey. They want answers to life’s big questions and seek refreshment for their weary souls. What they often miss is that the peace and tranquility they’re searching for come from a single source of healing and unconditional love that is always within reach! If we could just train ourselves to soak up God’s love and goodness the way a parched desert soaks up the rain, we’d all be saints!
